At 8:23 PM, the United States Geological Survey reported a seismic event centered on the eastern side of Yaak Mountain, Montana. Initially thought to be a localized earthquake, waveform analysis indicated the disturbance had more in common with underground nuclear tests than tectonic shifts. Power yield is comparable to the orbital cannons used by Dr. Destroyer during the Battle of Detroit. PRIMUS has activated protocol Gamma with command established at PRIMUS station “Oro y Plata” in Butte.
Satellite imagery shows little or no damage on the surface, with minor damage the Lundy Shooting range, located at the base of Yaak Mountain on the southeast side. Nor is there any visible damage to Lundy Ranch -- a compound located a mile south. This would indicate an underground detonation, and while Yaak Mountain is of sufficient size to conceal a research and development facility and low to mid-range explosions, an easily detected detonation of this magnitude indicates either an accident at the supposed facility, a failed self-destruct sequence, or potentially a message that testing is over and the builder’s plans have entered into a “phase two”.

PRIMUS has determined the potential for an underground facility at Yaak Mountain is high, and is currently gathering intelligence while urging caution. In 2017, a facility self-destructed just as the PRIMUS assault team breached the perimeter, seriously injuring the PRIMUS team and nearly killing Silver Avenger Sanchez.
In respect of Montana’s Sacred Lands Act, UNTIL has no facilities in Montana, but works closely with the PRIMUS Butte station. While the Sacred Lands Act tries to limit PRIMUS presence and specifically bans UNTIL from operating in the state, it provides no limitations to private companies such as Argent. Yaak Mountain is not in Argent's list of Montana facilities, however, this would not be the first hidden Argent facility. VIPER, having no concern about state law, is suspected to have established some nests. DEMON also has at least one hame located in the southwest corner of Montana.
PRIMUS urges UNTIL to remain disengaged unless requested to prevent political chaos. Members of the nearby Lundy Ranch have been arrested for shooting at Bureau of Land Management officials and for destruction of government property, but in every case the charges were dropped at the state and federal levels. Armitage Lundy is a magnet for television cameras and has a knack for turning any event into a platform for his anti-government cause. As such, UNITY has not yet been recalled. UNTIL will continue to monitor the situation coordinate with PRIMUS.
The Office of Superhuman Relations does not give directive to affiliate heroes and groups; however, it recommended affiliate groups and metabeings consult with their UNTIL liaison before taking action in a dangerous and politically sensitive situation.
