Retaliation

PRIMUS After Action Report
Commanding Agent Doug Holden
Note: Silver Avenger Richard Stevens

At 15:30, PHGT-87 mobile command center arrived to pull the trailer discovered at McClintock Gorge (Item-87112) with Assault Teams A-37 and A-39, along with Intelligence Team C-17, all based out of Butte. While the teams were securing the perimeter, broad spectrum radar and n-wave reported six airborn hostiles, three just under the speed of sound.

The teams had not had time to calibrate comms, so the metas Merx and Plasma Bolt could not be alerted and five VIPER Mamba-7 missiles struck the area, focused primarily on the northern face of the gorge. This attack was followed up by two VIPER skycycle teams (two cycles with two agents each), lead by a one in Scarlet Serpent armor. The skycycles fired upon the recovered trailer as a primary target, and the PRIMUS command vehicle as a secondary target using their front and rear-mounted blasters.

Merx projected force shields, which protected the command trailer and the assault teams while Plasma bolt used his abilities with lightning to destroy one of the craft. The VIPER skycycles retreated almost immediately, but not before launching micro-missile payloads at the recovered trailer, causing considerable damage to it and its contents. In particular, one skycycle attempted to ram the trailer, but was destroyed by Plasma Bolt before it hit.  Plasma Bolt flew after the Scarlet Serpent, who retreated to a positioned ViPER heavy armored personnel carrier parked along the road.

From a review with Plasma Bolt, the armored carrier launched missiles and transformed into an assault robot roughly 20’ tall, with a wide array of weapons -- missile launchers, gatling cannons and plasma projectors.  Valravn engaged the robot on the ground, distracting it while Plasma Bolt assessed it for weaknesses.

Finding none in the time provided, Plasma Bolt attacked, grabbing on to the robot and attempting to overload it. The robot must have been badly damaged in the assault, as it seemed to self-destruct, exploding with force enough to put a 1.5 meter crater across the road and shatter nearby trees.

Merx remained with the PRIMUS team, and through her mind scanning ability, determined that the VIPER agents were somehow surprised to find herself and Plasma Bolt at the site, which is why they ordered a retreat so quickly.

Furthermore, an examination of the captured VIPER agents shows their body armor was configured to be flame resistant, indicating they were expecting to be engaging an opponent who used fire was a primary weapon. Two of the VIPER agents died trying to destroy the recovered trailer, indicating that not only was the trailer their primary target, but that they were willing to spend considerable resources destroying it.

The trailer experienced considerable damage during the fight, and had been knocked on its side. Half of the right side had been ripped open, and the exposed equipment punctured by shrapnel and burned. The turrets to the front, designed for combat conditions were considerably less damaged.  If the trailer had not been moved before the attack, it is highly likely the initial attack would have destroyed it and its contents, which was clearly VIPER’s primary objective. This leads the intelligence team to believe VIPER was targeting based on older intelligence.

The captured VIPER agents will be taken to the Seattle PRIMUS facility for interrogation. The trailer will be towed by the command center truck to Butte. The command center team will gather what additional intelligence they can before being transported back to Butte. A team of engineers is en-route to repair most of the damage to the highway. Silver Avenger Richard Stevens will be re-deployed to the Butte facility.
