Ambush off Route 43

UNTIL Truffle Hunt Situational Report
Projects: UNTIL: Snakecharmer, Shiva
PRIMUS: Mongoose

UNITY Associate Valravn learned from her network of corvids of a location fifty miles west of Mount Yaak that had at least one VIPER symbol present. Note that because she is communicating with corvids, GPS coordinates and specifics other than what might interest avians such as ravens and crows, were all that was available. However, she was able to guide a VTOL craft to the location along with metahumans Merx and Plasma Bolt

Communicator Data I

Note: The communicator looks like a VIPER communicator, but standard VIPER keys do not work. The device had been partially decrypted by the captured agent, it seems, which helped break into it more.

Below is a captured audio signal, which seems to be a voice recording. There are five distinct voices, four male, one female.

After Action: Operation Truffle Hunt

UNTIL After Action Report 0011701-20190606-005
OSR Field Agent Sgt Katrina Mirinova

Metas Involved:
Designation: Merx - H11180115262 - Known abilities: Technological Gear, Computer and Electronic Expertise, Telekinesis & Telepathy

Designation: Plasma Bolt - H11180115255 - Known abilities: Strength, Electrical Control and Projection. High resistance to damage.

To avoid detection by either reporters or members of Armitage Lundy’s Freedom Movement, the team flew via VTOL twenty miles above the Yaak Mountain site and either few or jumped, aiming to land at the suspected entrance to the facility. A GPS glitch placed Agent Mirinova along the southern face of Mount Yaak, about a thousand yards from the designated landing site. Had the GPS error been in a southern rather than northern direction, she would have landed at the southern end of the Lundy Gun Range and Home School.

Zeta Complex: OSR Alert

UNTIL Office of Superhuman Resources

OSR Alert #87172.

Affiliate Heroes and Groups only.

DIPLOMATIC ALERT: CLASS 3

At 8:23 PM, the United States Geological Survey reported a seismic event centered on the eastern side of Yaak Mountain, Montana. Initially thought to be a localized earthquake, waveform analysis indicated the disturbance had more in common with underground nuclear tests than tectonic shifts. Power yield is comparable to the orbital cannons used by Dr. Destroyer during the Battle of Detroit. PRIMUS has activated protocol Gamma with command established at PRIMUS station “Oro y Plata” in Butte.

Rare Beast: A Non-Writing Post

I try to reserve my posts on this blog to writing, but I guess this is about story, in a way, but no, this is really about something else entirely. Note! 'Hidden Figures' spoilers below the tear, so read at your own risk.

I saw the Movie, 'Hidden Figures' yesterday. Fantastic and I heartily recommend it. Curiously enough, there was a trailer for a movie called 'Gifted'.  I had never seen the trailer before, and it seemed to be a movie about a girl with a gift for mathematics, and how it affects her life.

The Passion Opera

I haven't been posting for a bit. Mostly because I've been getting myself into the Twitterverse, and also because I've been editing The Stone That Sings like a fiend. #amediting #amwriting and such. Mostly because I have gotten a very thorough Beta who has been extremely helpful in letting me re-think some of what was written and how it impacts the reader.

This current edit is more than a line edit, though I find more than enough typos to keep me busy. This is also an examination of structure, and also the amount of expository text I've used. In a way, I'm seeing the first edition as less of a complete novel and more of parts of a novel and some very in-depth outlining.  As it is, the second edition is adding 30K or so more words on top of the first and not filler, but interactions that were glossed over in the first edition that really should have been fleshed out initially. As I start to flesh out those outlined sections, I am discovering new uses for existing elements within the story that help tie it together as a cohesive whole. The Passion Opera is one of them.
